Strung Out on INXS: The String Quartet Tribute by Vitamin String Quartet

I recently discovered this great string quartet tribute to Inxs by Vitamin String Quartet, entitled Strung Out on INXS: The String Quartet Tribute. I found it on Apple Music after searching for INXS. The album was released in July 2006, so it was an "OMG, why am I hearing it for the first time?" moment. It was one of the most beautiful pieces of instrumental music I have ever heard. I am sorry it took me nearly 16 years to find it. A "New Sensation" at the time of its release, this album reimagined each INXS hit into a baroque tour de force with violin, viola, and cello.

Although I could listen to this album continuously beginning to end, my favorites are: "New Sensation," "What You Need," "Devil Inside," "Never Tear Us Apart," "Suicide Blonde," "Disappear," "Original Sin," "Mystify," and "Need You Tonight."

The Vitamin String Quartet is a band from Los Angeles known for their tribute albums to rock and pop acts. The group was formed in 1999 as an experimental band that rearranged rock songs with classical instruments. Later, they expanded their repertoire to include several genres, including pop and rock, metal, emo, punk, techno, country, and hip-hop. Their discography spans more than 400 albums.

If you're a fan of INXS, you should check this out! It's the only tribute album that I've heard from them, but I imagine their other albums are equally stellar.
